Vargabar Espresso – Morning Transition to human beans.

Posted on August 16, 2011 by DL

VargabarEspresso is great little cafe located in Newtown with a focus on environmental sustainability. Vargabar Espresso is named after the extraordinary life and pin up Artist Alberto Vargas. The place has a little ‘hippy’ feeling and we like it.

A must for this camera is coffee to kickstart the day. Cappuccinos ($3.20) weren’t bad, a bit on the simple side of the complexity scale. They do however use the ristretto extraction method as standard, so if you want a lighter pour, you better request that. They don’t do decaf here. Man up and drink a real coffee!

First a chorizo and baked eggs with cajun tortilla, served with chili pumpkin, tasty tomato, spinach, parmesan and pear chutney($15.50). Super tasty, although slightly overcooked (baked eggs should still run!).

Next a wagyu beef burger with tomato, spinach, grilled haloumi, beetroot, onion jam and coffee bean smoked pepper sauce – yes coffee beans! ( $16.50). This burger was insanely good. So good in fact, the little camera decided to flash it’s little blue LED in excitement.

Overall Vargabar was good. Great for (all day) breakfast & lunch.
